Pool with a beautiful view
Sitting tucked near the open space of Mount Diablo this home had scenic views of the hills and meadows of East Contra Costa County but a pool and spa that needed renovation. The slope near the pool was screaming for a waterfall but it needed to match the size of the tree and view it shared.
Progress
After the pool and spa were partially remodeled with new Connecticut Flagstone coping and new tile the real adventure begins. How to get 30+ tons of boulders into the slope and set using 45 mil EPDM liner…one boulder at a time!
Waterfall goes in
As we completed the waterfall the rest of the work around the waterfall could be finished off. New stairs and concrete along with additional walls to retain the waterfall area. Multiple contractors were onsite working together to make the project come to fruition.
Time to enjoy
When the two 3 hp Pentair WhisperFlo pumps were turned on…WOW! The look matched the sounds and the stone bridge crossing over the stream cried out to be crossed. The advantage to having two pumps allows for a slower flow and softer sounds with one pump off when it is time to enjoy a book or a morning cup of coffee without giving up the drama of a mighty waterfall when entertaining.
I am interested in a backyard remodel – we would like a pool – however our back yard has a slope to it. We may settle on a hot tub with a fountain. I would like to complete this project in the Spring. Would like estimates and understand if a pool would fit in the yard.
